Old classmates gathered to talk about some interesting things in school. After three rounds of drinking, a former poor student patted the monitor on the shoulder and said, "What's the use of reading? I haven't graduated from high school, and I still drive a sports car.". There are now more than 300 people in my factory. Everyone's salary is higher than some white-collar workers.
The monitor smiled and did not contradict.

I think this is probably the difference between reading and not reading. There is no unnecessary debate. He said you were a useless scholar, but you wouldn't say he was an upstart.
There are also many such examples. Some people often use the example of a certain primary school graduate who finally became rich to promote the theory that reading is useless. In fact, the utilitarianism of reading itself is a superficial understanding.

Why is it that the more people who do not read, the more they will question the usefulness of reading after success? It may be those who have achieved little without reading. They can't see the greater achievements because of reading.
But do those who say reading is useless really think it is useless? Not necessarily.

For example, a cook tried to open a restaurant, and then his business was good, and he opened two restaurants nearby. Later, he wanted to make his own brand, and wanted to become bigger and stronger. At this time, he must feel powerless. Because he knows nothing except cooking, he can only spend more time and energy to learn to collide.
Those things that were once disdained will eventually need to be repaired with more efforts.

In fact, such people are more aware of the significance of reading. No matter how big the business is and how much money he earns, he won't say to his children, "Don't read. You can still make money if your father doesn't read." Compared with people who read books, people who don't read often have more difficulties when they want to go further.
Liang Shiqiu once wrote an article "swearing is a profound knowledge". In fact, there is the biggest difference between people who read books and those who don't.

During World War II, when British Prime Minister Churchill held a public speech in a certain place, he handed out a note under the stage with only two words "stupid" written on it. The audience was waiting to see him embarrass, but Churchill said to the audience with an air of composure: "I just received a letter, but the writer forgot to write the content and only signed his name."
There are many such examples. For example, the husband accused his wife of being a black sheep and complained that his wife always liked something useless. The wife smiled and said, "I don't want you to say that about yourself.".

Those who do not read will only attack with the most direct violent language, which reveals their ignorance and vulgarity. People who read books have a better sense of humor and are not angry or irritable. Even when they encounter abuse, they can respond intelligently to resolve embarrassment and surprise you.
I read an article before, "Don't read, what do you joke with people". Similarly, what do you chat with people without reading?

The less you know, the less you can communicate with others, and chat has great limitations. You don't understand what others say at all. It's strange if you don't talk about it.
This is also the reason why many people feel that they can't find a topic no matter chasing girls or accompanying customers. If you don't read, you will lose a lot of talk and have no original opinions on things. Who wants to talk with you every day?
On the contrary, people who often read books know more things and naturally talk more.

In life, many young people always say that they are lonely like a dog. They can't be alone quietly. As long as they are alone, they will feel full of emptiness and boredom.
Why? Because their spirit is not nourished, their bodies seem to be an empty shell, and their emotions need to be filled with external things. Such people, even if they are rich in material, can't really feel abundance.
People who do not read will never have energy in spirit. They can only pass the time by playing games, painting dramas and sleeping when they are free. People who love reading, no matter how lonely they are, will not lose their last conversation partner, that is, themselves.

As a saying goes, only reading can resist loneliness for a long time.
There is a joke on the Internet: How can you tell the difference between reading and not reading? When you see the afterglow of the sunset, what comes to your mind is: "The sunset and the lone duck fly together, and the autumn water is the same as the sky." Instead of "Wow, there are so many birds, so beautiful!" This is the gap between the cultural heritage, which can be seen from the beginning.

As the saying goes, "The belly is full of poetry and books." Those who don't read will lose the temperament in their bones.
Reading and non-reading people, accumulated over time, eventually become a world of difference.
